David Brennan speaks at Medical Innovation Summit on cancer cures through innovation
CEO, David Brennan, delivered a speech titled “Improving the prognosis: cancer cures through innovation” at the 2009 Medical Innovation Summit, a major industry conference run by the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic.David explained some of AstraZeneca’s recent experiences and examined what they tell us about the way forward for medical innovation, particularly in oncology.
The three themes David picked out were personalisation, partnership and policy – main drivers which can bring about progress in medical science and better health outcomes for the patient.
The Cleveland Clinic is a non-profit academic medical centre that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. The Medical Innovation Summit is an annual event attended by more than 900 senior executives, investors, entrepreneurs and clinicians.
