Seroquel (quetiapine) is an oral, atypical anti-psychotic agent for schizophrenia. Seroquel was launched in the UK and USA in 1997, and further approvals were gained worldwide in 1998 and 1999.

Seroquel is now approved in over 75 countries, and has since been used to treat over 4 million patients worldwide with over 2 million patients in the US alone.

Seroquel is under development for the treatment of bipolar mania and other psychoses, and new formulations are also being developed.
