Set in 400 acres of parkland in Macclesfield, Cheshire, our R&D centre of excellence at Alderley Park focuses on the discovery and development of new medicines to combat cancer. It also plays an important role in our work in other areas such as heart disease, inflammation and infection.

We employ some 2,800 people in R&D at Alderley Park (out of a total of 4,500 employees at this site) in a range of disciplines including chemistry, bioscience, pharmacology, genetics, clinical research and regulatory.

Alderley Park already has an enviable record in the history of pharmaceutical innovation, being involved in the discovery, research and development of a number of treatments across various therapy areas.
