Bricanyl (terbutaline)

Bricanyl (terbutaline) is a short-acting beta2-agonist, used as needed as reliever medication for the symptoms of asthma and to manage acute exacerbations.

Bricanyl can also be used for the treatment of other respiratory diseases where bronchospasm or reversible airways obstruction is a complicating factor.

The following inhaled formulations are available: Bricanyl Turbohaler, and Bricanyl solution for nebulisation.

Oral formulations of Bricanyl are also available: Bricanyl tablets and Bricanyl Syrup (raspberry-flavoured, sugar-free solution). Further formulations are available in markets outside the UK.

Bricanyl solution for injection or infusion is also available.
