Responsible business plan: Access to healthcare

We are committed to increasing access to healthcare for underserved patient populations in a sustainable way.

Our goal is always to improve health for patients and to add value for our stakeholders and our business.

Continued roll-out within the business of our Access to Healthcare (ATH) strategy and further development of the framework/plan for implementation.

We are in the process of developing non-financial performance indicators for monitoring our performance across all our ATH initiatives.

These are most likely to centre on the number of patients reached and the associated health outcomes, but we are also looking at other ways in which we can monitor and measure the impact of our strategies.
 

ATH strategy launched in March 2012.

Continued roll-out of the ATH framework within our Global Commercial Organisation (GCO) during 2012 to support further development of our approach and enable capture of ongoing “broadening affordability” commercial initiatives. For example, our work to expand patient access in countries such as Brazil, China, Romania and the Ukraine continues with a range of different commercial approaches.

Continued interaction across the business during 2012 to develop ATH performance metrics. Organisational changes within GCO, coupled with review of commercial strategies has delayed decisions in this area, pending review outcomes.
