Employee data

In recent years, we have been working to implement common HR information technology systems across AstraZeneca. By outsourcing HR activities such as payroll and data management, our HR organisation is increasingly able to focus on areas where they can most significantly contribute to business success, and we are able to benefit from the availability of consistent employee data globally. By the end of 2012, we had implemented a common HR system across 107 countries with just one country left to be migrated during 2013.

This progress has allowed us to widen the scope for the indicators we report in this section which, unless otherwise stated, cover our full global population.
