| AstraZeneca and Americares | We have an ongoing partnership with AmeriCares, an international relief organisation in the US who works to get medicines, medical supplies and aid to individuals and communities in need around the world.
Our support includes AmeriCares’ breast cancer initiative at the Sihanouk Hospital Center of Hope in Phnom Penh, Cambodia - three-year programme that aims to make diagnostic services and treatments accessible to more patients, raise public awareness about breast cancer and build the capacity of healthcare providers to successfully diagnose and treat a disease that affects thousands of Cambodia women.
Product donation is also a core component of our partnership with AmeriCares. Over the last two years, we have donated prescription medicines with a value of $31 million, at average wholesale price, in support of AmeriCares’ ongoing programmes around the world including its medical outreach programmes and disaster relief and preparedness. Through AmeriCares, AstraZeneca medicines have been donated to 54 countries, in line with our Product Donations Policy to ensure that the donations are appropriately managed to reach patients in need.
