AstraZeneca and International Health Partners
During 2007, we partnered with International Health Partners (IHP), a charitable organisation dedicated to providing donated medical aid in the developing world. Our sites at Macclesfield, Dunkirk and Södertälje co-ordinated the donation of AstraZeneca medicines, Losec, Tenormin , Pulmicort and Bricanyl, for use in IHP’s Doctor’s Travel Packs. These packs are provided to UK doctors travelling overseas on short-term electives, missions or training assignments. The packs are used in hospitals, medical centres or field clinics and have been designed in consultation with UK doctors, the World Health Organisation and the British Medical Association’s International Committee. In addition to our medicines, each pack contains 40 different essential medicines from other companies - with treatment for up to 1,500 children and adults.
