COMPETITION AUTHORITIES RECEIVE ASTRAZENECA MERGER FILINGS

Filings for competition law approval of the AstraZeneca merger have been made to the European Commission and the Federal Trade Commission in the U.S., it was announced today. Both regulatory bodies received the filing last Friday (January 15). They will consider the proposed merger of equals between Zeneca, a UK-based company, and Astra, of Sweden, announced last month.
