Diprivan (propofol) is an injectable general anaesthetic for the induction and maintenance of anaesthesia, which is the world's largest-selling general anaesthetic.
Diprivan has been administered to more than 330 million people worldwide since its launch in 1986. It is particularly suited to meeting the increasing demand for out-patient surgery, as well as early transfer from the recovery room to the ward.
The improved microbal resistant formulation, Diprivan EDTA, is approved in the majority of markets and accounts for 90% of total Diprivan sales.
Diprivan is also approved in most markets for use in the sedation of mechanically ventilated intensive care adult patients and the sedation of patients undergoing diagnostic or surgical procedures.
