Imaging
Many of the conditions that AstraZeneca seeks to treat are chronic diseases that progress slowly. This can make it difficult to assess quickly how well our new agents are working. Imaging Centres at Alderley Park, UK, and Mölndal, Sweden, use Magnetic Resonance (MRI), nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and computed tomography to make precise measurements of disease. These tools are supported by advanced imaging informatics and collaborations with academic centres of excellence.
AstraZeneca uses these advanced imaging technologies to verify the role of novel drug targets in disease models, and to make faster and more accurate assessment of drug efficacy in disease models and clinical trials.
