To ensure that our new Code of Conduct is fully supported by an appropriate and robust set of Company policies, during 2008, we also revised and enhanced the content of our Global Policies to increase clarity and focus on key business activities and risks. This work was led by Global Compliance with the support of a cross-functional team of SET area representatives, including MedImmune.
Approved by the Senior Executive Team (SET) during Q4 2008, our 11 new Global Policies were launched in January 2009. To give effect to these Policies, all SET areas, including MedImmune, are expected to follow any global standards and procedures or, provided they are consistent with the Global Policy, their own local or functional standards and procedures.
Training in the new Policies is underway. Because many of the Global Policies are directed at specific functional areas within the Company, training is flexible and driven by each SET area so that employees are trained on the topics that are relevant to them.

SUPPORTING POLICIES AND STANDARDS
Further supporting policies and standards will be published here as they become available.
During 2009, work is focused on streamlining our wide range of supporting policies and standards, reducing duplication and eliminating out-of-date material to ensure that they appropriately and effectively support the new Code and Global Policies.
