MedImmune
Since the acquisition in 2007, we have been working continuously with MedImmune to align our two companies’ CR strategies and frameworks.
MedImmune was closely involved in the development of our new Code of Conduct and Global Policies, which unite our two organisations at the highest level of governance. To give effect to our Policies, all Senior Executive Team (SET) areas, including MedImmune, are expected to follow any global standards and procedures or, provided they are consistent with the Global Policy, their own local or functional standards and procedures.
As an area of SET responsibility, MedImmune is also represented on our Global Compliance Committee, our Issues Management Council and other key groups, such as the Science Policy and Practice Council.
Importantly, during 2008 MedImmune appointed two CR-dedicated staff, who are working closely with our Global CR Team in the development of MedImmune CR frameworks, in line with our strategic objectives.
The size and complexity of the task of alignment means that it will take time, and so we are taking the pragmatic approach of reviewing first the areas within our CR Priority Action Plan that are most relevant to MedImmune. These include governance and compliance, sales and marketing practice, animal research, clinical trials, safety and working with suppliers.
Whilst we cannot yet integrate MedImmune information and/or performance data across all of our Company positioning and performance reporting, we have made some progress during the year. Where integrated information and/or combined data is available, it is provided throughout this Responsibility section of our website and its inclusion appropriately indicated. Where there is no such indication, work is still in progress and any statements of position or performance do not include MedImmune.
