The Responsibility section of our website is a GRI-based report, in line with the Global Reporting Initiative’s 2006 G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.

We report at GRI Application Level B+ and this is confirmed by Bureau Veritas, who provides the independent assurance of our CR reporting. (See Bureau Veritas’s Assurance Statement for more information on the scope and outcomes of the assurance process.)
The tables in the three sections listed on this page include the GRI G3 requirements and those Performance Indicators we have selected for our reporting, with links to the relevant sections of our web page. Most of the links lead into the Responsibility section of our website, but some link into the separate Annual Report website. This is in cases where the GRI requirement is already fulfilled by our financial annual report and we have not wanted to duplicate the information.
We have selected 49 GRI Performance Indicators that we assess as relevant and material for our operations. 30 of these we report fully and 19 partially. For partial disclosures, where we meet some, but not all of the requirements of the GRI, we have provided a short commentary.
2007 was the first year that we applied the GRI reporting guidelines and it represented an important step forward for us. We have continued to apply the guidelines to our 2008 reporting and aim to continually review opportunities for further alignment with GRI that adds benefit for our stakeholders, year-on-year. This year, we have strengthened our reporting particularly in the Social indicators for Human Rights and Labour to increase the total indicators covered from 34 last year to 49 in 2008.
For more information on how we have selected topics and indicators for this report, please see the Priority Action Planning section.
Please note that the information contained in this section of the web relates to our 2008 CR performance, unless indicated otherwise.
