AstraZeneca has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World and Europe, marking the 16th time the company has been included in the DJSI.
AstraZeneca achieved an overall score of 84 out of a possible 100, receiving the industry’s top score in the areas of Codes of Business Conduct, Labour Practice Indicators, Climate Strategy, Policy Influence, and Health Outcome Contribution. Of 44 companies assessed from the Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology & Life Sciences Industry Group, only eight qualified for inclusion in DJSI World, and AZ ranked third overall.
“We are proud to be recognised again by the DJSI for embedding sustainability throughout our company,” said Lindsay Mendoza, AstraZeneca’s Vice President, Global Sustainability. “Focusing on our sustainability priorities — maintaining ethical business practices, increasing access to healthcare, and minimising our environmental impact — is making a difference in securing our future as a company, society, and the planet.”
The DJSI is a globally recognised independent benchmark that assesses – and ranks – the economic, environmental, and social performance of companies. The longest-running global sustainability benchmark system, it represents the gold standard for corporate sustainability and has become a key reference point for investors.
