Creating more time for science, customers & our employees
Simplification is a key driver of our commitment to be a great place to work. As a large organization, complexity can be a daily challenge. But while the nature of our work to develop and deliver life-changing medicines is not simple, we have a responsibility to our employees to ensure that our work environment does not complicate it further.
As a result, in September 2016, we challenged ourselves to unlock a million hours by simplifying our business through streamlined operations, process improvements, increased use of technology and improved ways of working. The result has been a grassroots movement fueled by our entrepreneurial spirit that has resulted in more than 2 million hours saved across our nearly 60,000 employees in more than 100 countries globally through over 700 distinct projects.
These projects have allowed our employees valuable time back to focus on what is most important to our business: scientific leadership, our customers and patients, and their own personal development.
