AstraZeneca improves performance in FTSE4Good index

AstraZeneca recently ranked second place overall in the pharmaceutical industry in the latest FTSE4Good Index, with an improved score of 4.7 from 4.1 in 2017. Ratings outperformed the sector average across all areas, particularly within the Environment and Social scores.

FTSE4Good is designed to help investors identify socially responsible companies for investment opportunities. To be included in the index, companies must meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards in five areas:

  • Working toward environmental sustainability
  • Upholding and supporting universal human rights
  • Ensuring good supply chain labour standards
  • Countering bribery and corruption
  • Mitigating and adapting to climate change
