My role is to establish and lead external collaborative programmes such as the precompetitive collaboration between GSK and University of Manchester (the Manchester Collaborative Centre for Inflammation research), the GLAZgo Discovery Centre at the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation at the University of Glasgow and more focused collaboration like this with Professor Peter Le Souëf and his team. The objective of these high quality scientific interactions is to identify new ways to reveal the cellular / molecular nature that underpins the pathology in our disease areas of interest to develop new ways to ultimately provide enhanced patient benefit. I also provide scientific support and challenge to the clinical and preclinical projects within the iMed. I have established and lead a highly-regarded postdoctoral programme in AstraZeneca that currently supports over 100 internal post-docs to support innovative science and also train the next generation of pharmaceutical scientific leaders.
Be among our employees who continue to make us an innovation-driven company that stands firmly among the world’s leaders in biopharmaceuticals.
