Meet the companies and academic groups

There are currently about 25 life science companies and academic groups co-locating at the heart of AstraZeneca’s R&D Gothenburg site. Each new company or academic group adds more ingredients and flavours to the innovative future we’re creating and nurturing in the BioVentureHub community.

By daring to share and stimulating and sustainable life science reality – combining Drugs, MedTech, Diagnostics, Data & AI, Digital health, Expert Providers and Academia – we are forming a modern, life science environment, based on scientific curiosity and collaboration opportunities, rather than strict business plan recipes. This is where you go from challenges to opportunities.

Companies and Academic Groups

Albus Health

Albus Health makes contactless nocturnal monitoring systems (Albus Home) that automatically monitor a range of physiological and environmental metrics without the patients having to do or wear anything. Using a small bedside device and a range of algorithms, the system monitors metrics such as respiration, coughing and wheezing, as well as information such as air quality, temperature and humidity. Whether it's a 5 year-old child or a 95 year-old elderly, Albus Home can be used with anyone, anywhere and as long as needed. This helps collect continuous and objective evidence from participants' homes in clinical trials without needing clinical visits. In healthcare, it provides exciting opportunities for continuous monitoring of a range of chronic conditions to provide a diagnosis as well as early warning signs of worsening several days prior to an emergency, so patients can stay healthy at home
