AstraZeneca has been serving the Thai community for over 40 years. The company's innovative efforts are exemplified through projects such as the Lung Ambition Alliance Project and the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Risk Score tool, which leverage AI to provide scalable and affordable healthcare solutions. These healthcare innovation initiatives have significantly impacted early disease detection, underscoring the company’s continued mission to improve health outcomes in Thailand.
AI-driven projects have disrupted traditional healthcare models by enabling early disease detection and personalised treatment plans. The Lung Ambition Alliance Project, launched in 2022 in partnership with Qure.ai, utilises the Chest AI tool to screen for early markers of lung cancer, particularly in emerging markets. With a goal to screen 1 million people by 2026, the project has already screened over 302,682 individuals, achieving a 0.1% lung cancer detection rate. Additionally, the CKD Risk Score digital tool, introduced in March 2024, has conducted 130,000 screenings to date and aims to screen 1 million individuals at risk of CKD by 2025. These initiatives demonstrate innovative, patient-centric solutions, shifting from traditional to more innovative approaches.
