AstraZeneca launches its “Making Health Happen” campaign in Thailand to build a healthy future for people, society and the planet

Bangkok – AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd. is strengthening its position as a leading global biopharmaceutical company with the launch of its “Making Health Happen” campaign, showcasing how the company is harnessing the power of science to build a healthy future for Thai people, society and the planet.

This campaign aims to improve the efficiency and efficacy of early diagnoses and transfer manufacturing knowledge and technologies to Thai organizations to make medical innovation and services more accessible to the community. These developments will help drive the standardization of health systems and enhance the quality of life and wellness for Thai citizens in a sustainable way.

James Teague, Country President of AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd., stated: “We believe that the health and well-being of people, society, and the planet, are essential for a sustainable future. In our 40 years of business operations in Thailand, we have remained focused on transforming the future of health care by unlocking the power of science through research and development and delivering life-changing medicines that can transform patient outcomes. We continue our dedication to collaborating with organizations in the public and private sectors to push the boundaries of science as part of our ‘Making Health Happen’ mission.”

Throughout its four decades of business operations in Thailand, AstraZeneca has focused on researching and developing innovative vaccines and medicines and creating solutions that transform patients' lives. While AstraZeneca recognizes scientific advancement as its main priority, it has also initiated programs that go beyond the provision of new treatments and focus on improving access to healthcare and making healthcare systems sustainable and resilient. For example, the Young Health Program is a campaign to raise public awareness about chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, respiratory disorders, and diabetes. Such diseases1 cause more than 41 million deaths each year and account for 71% of all mortality worldwide.

Resilient healthcare systems will pave the way for Thailand to further bolster its place as a key international medical hub. From prevention and awareness to diagnosis and treatment, AstraZeneca has strengthened partnerships with public and private organizations across the Thai ecosystem to develop and scale-up innovative and holistic health solutions to build a strong society.

In addition to its bold vision of harnessing scientific knowledge and collaborating with partners, AstraZeneca is committed to the planet. The goal of the company’s key environmental program, Ambition Zero Carbon, is to drive subsidiaries and partners around the world to jointly reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2025 to improve the health of our planet.

The “Making Health Happen” campaign aims to push the boundaries of science and provide more sustainable healthcare and well-being for people, society, and the planet. Please see: Video for further information.
